Legal Forms of doing Business in the Republic of Bulgaria A company is a legal person in which two or more persons come together to do business with common resources. A company may be established by a sole person in the cases provided by the law (Art. 63 CA). In order for a company to be established, it has to be entered into a special Commercial Register under the provisions of the Commercial Register Act. There exist five types of companies under the Bulgarian laws and they are as follows: general partnerships (SD), commandite partnerships (KD), limited liability companies (OOD), joint-stock companies (AD), and commandite partnerships limited by shares (KDA). Limited Liability Company and Joint Stock Company may be established also as single-person commercial companies (Art. 63 in connection with Art. 113 and Art. 159 of the CA).
